Not sure if this is the right place, but I wanted to pass this on:
"Mikael from Nordland must win! Lano (which is a Norway’s leading soap brand) has a competition for the best looking baby that represents their brand for the coming year; and – if my Norwegian is good enough – gets a holiday cheque worth of 30.000 krone. Now I have come to notice a little boy called Mikael is one of the contestants. Normally I am insensitive for this kind of stuff, but for some reason when I saw the photo and saw that the photo was made by ‘mamma’ my throat closed up and tears came in my eyes. I got so sad (or overjoyed) that the little boy – who seems like he is going outside in cold weather – get all tucked up by his loving mommy and, his mother in all her love for her son, makes a picture because she thinks he is the most handsome boy in the world. For the last 4 weeks now I am voting every day when my browser starts up for the first time, it has become my mission; my temporary life goal for this moment. I am aware probably every mother in the world has this feeling, but I know too that it is probably very hard for this mother to raise the little Mikael, and that is why I think everyone should ‘vote’ for them to make sure that they win. Just click on the heart at the bottom of his picture to vote for him! Here is the link- http://www.lano.no/fylkesvinnere/flest- ... nordland-1 "
Hope it hasn't been posted here, if so, oh well, delete it! A buddy posted it on Expresso Beans, figured it could only help the little guy posting here also.
Click on the heart, type in the words, and you have voted.
THANKS!

sooooo
i don't know
but it's very moving
there's all those
"beautiful" kids on there
then there's Mikael
and his momma
so wonderful that
she entered him!
I"m sure he is the
most beautiful
child in the world
to her
and why not? right?
he's adorable
happy and sadness
strike me at the
same time

You are right, the winner gets 30,000 NOK, which is about 5,000 USD. The winner also gets their picture on the physical product as of next year.
i HATE to say this..
but its reality in advertising
that i don't think that Mikael
is the type of baby they're looking for in advertising. NOW WAIT.....
Although he SHOULD be....
there are so many ignorant ppl in this world
who just can't appreciate a mother's love
and the innocence of a child..all children
and that all children are extraordinarily beautiful in their own way
i DO hope people take this to heart and give little Mikael a chance.
because if left to corporate marketing types, it's not gonna happen.
a real shame but our society is stuck on "pretty"
thin, pretty, young, and perfect, whatever that means
i hope you guys take this post in the way i intend it, cuz what I'm trying to say is that
i DO think Mikael should be given an equal chance and his momma should be given mother of the year award for going against the grain and entering her beautiful baby in this contest. I hope they win!
I just don't think society has caught up with what "real" is and i don't know if they ever will.
Kudos to you for finding this for us.

Agreed. Not to be cynical but I wonder how many people are voting for Mikael just to see if the advertiser will go through with their promise of a pic.....
