Hi folks,

So my buddy was showing me some live Ween stuff and it sounded great. For those familiar with the band, what would you recommend starting on...albums, live...???

Thanks

Start with "Chocolate and Cheese." Phenomenal record. It's an easy listen, not as experimental as some of the others. I would try "The Mollusk" too. It's a little more trippy but kicks ass when you get into it. "White Pepper" is also a cool record but I like the first two I mentioned more. The older stuff like "Pure Guava" and "The Pod" are kick ass but I think they are much tougher listens. "12 Golden Country Greats" is awesome too but it's more of a goofy country record. There's an official live release called "Live in Chicago" that's a good live starter.

    Hope this helps.

Listen to abe froman he knows what he's tlaking about. i actually prefer live ween but those are the essential albums. these guys are unbelievable musicians and put on a great live show. their three hour throwdowns are crazy. they have a very cult like fanbase like PJ and the sets are very different every night. I think at this point they've covered just aout every musical genre. Here's couple good shows to grab off archive:

"What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."
