Upcoming Releases in 2010...

Since I don't listen to the radio anymore, I usually get lots of suggestions for new music from this board. Here's what I'm looking forward to for the remainder of 2010 off the top of my head...

8/24/10 - JJ Grey & Mofro - Georgia Warhouse
10/19/10 - Kings of Leon - Come Around Sundown
Fall 2010 - Ben Harper & the Relentless7 - Give Till It's Gone

No date yet. It's being released and distributed by them directly, and since they've never done it all themselves before, it's taking some time. The album is completed and ready for pressing, but nothing further has been communicated. Though I do respect them for doing it all themselves (a la Pearl Jam and Radiohead), this album should have been released in 2009, if not 2008. They're clearly taking their sweet ass time putting this thing out. My guess? No earlier than November/December, probably sometime in 2011. Ugh.

Wow- I was hoping that it would be out a lot sooner than that. But to tell you the truth, if their touring schedule over the past few years tells me anything, they do like to take their time on everything!

Every year I wait for a new Tom Waits album.. 3 studio albums in a few years at the start of the decade and only a rarities box (although it was fantastic) and a live compilation of the last tour (again fantastic) since Real Gone in 04. I hear he's spent time in the studio but could this be the year? :?

I'm with you on that...I want some more Waits stuff. Would be sweet if he revisited his Nighthawks style of jazz...

I'm with you both here....

Even more so, the same goes for Mark Lanegan...I've been waiting for a new SOLO album from him for the past 6 years now. All I ever hear is "some work has been done." It's been WAY too long, man!
