Im not really a fan, big deadhead, but it seemed like a good thing to check out given the venue and the rave reviews for the current tour
fun time, that band is tight and they are talented musicians that put on an energetic show
I didnt see god or lose my shit, but I had fun, I would go again if the tickets were free
what night? cities in night 2 was great, heard simple on night 3 was a good jam
how hard are those pollocks to get at shows?
still have yet to see a phish show... but would like to... if only to say i have
http://seanbriceart.com/
pollock are very tough to get, need to line up around noon or so usually, and wait for hours. I'd rather be hanging out with friends than sit in that line.
that being said, his greek night 1 from this is looks amazing, the lettering puts it as my favorite of his ever
PJ should really consider using him for their next tour
the folksy feel would actually fit these days... now that they've mellowed considerably

I dont know any of their songs and only heard a bunch songs before I went
LIFE WASTED, BLOOD on the PORCH, LAST KISS is a WISHLIST DEEP DOWN NOTHING AS IT SEEMS WHY GO COME BACK ALIVE SPIN THE BLACK CIRCLE and SMILE.
out of the studio stuff i like "picture of nectar" the most... very ecclectic... shows off their musicianship... "billy breathes" is good too

but yes albums aren't really their thing. a good introductory live album is slip, stich, and pass. if you like what you hear, you may be ready for the next phase....
I recommend the Bonnaroo 2009 bootleg. It was the fist thing I listened to by Phish and it made me a fan (Bruce Springsteen also makes a cameo for a couple of songs).
as far as albums go check out Picture of Nectar and Billy Breathes.
Randall's Island 96 and haven't stopped since...
glad you fun. to me a PJ show is about half as good as a phish show. it doesn't matter what they play but how they play it. on here it seems like all there are is setlist whores who don't think a show was good unless Crown of Thorns was played or some other rare song they've been chasing. As far as lyrics go well Phish songs are more about the compositions. If you are really into songs i reccomend checking out Billy Breathes Phish are not great singers so they focus on what they are good at. Most Phans go to the shows for the improvisation. It's amazing to see where they can take songs and create these euphoric moments. It's also nice that they repeat a song at most every four shows and when they do it's never really played the same. I love hitting multiple PJ shows, but you really don't need to see more than three in a row max. Honestly at this point I just go to hear new Pj songs because ive heard everything else after 10 years of seeing them. The versions don't differ too much show to show. And I know people on here will get pissed at me for saying this but Phish owns MSG and the energy is so much greater than PJ. It's also nice that there aren't sing alongs the whole time so you can hear what's going on. But again glad you had fun. Phall tour is gonna rock. Also Pj is my second favorite band, I just love Phish so much more.
night three was hot. the Light was fantastic and the Slave was the best in years. Really nice Suzy as well.
For studio albums get Junta and Lawnboy. Junta is very proggy and by far their best work.
For live stuff check out A Live One and New Year's '95 at MSG.
