Old Man on the Porch

The old blind man sits in his rocking chair
rocking back and forth in the humid Mississippi sun
playing his mouth harp a song he learned a long time ago
and tapping out a beat with his old brown shoe
he stops just long enough to let out a howl.

Hay hay hay baby why don'tcha swing over here
come on closer momma get on over here
ha hay baby I'm in love with you.

On his old wooden porch he sang the blues
blow'n his harp and keeping the beat with his old brown shoes
howl'in hay hay baby I'm in love with you.

the whole neighborhood would gather in the old dirt lot
in front of the porch to dance and hear the old blind man play
and a chance to forget about their blues and sing
hay hay baby I'm in love with you.

The old man played his blues everyday
his ol' mouth harp and old brown shoes
singing hay hay baby I'm in love with you.

and all the neighbors danced and sang
play it one more time ol' man
sing away our blues
Hay hay baby I'm in love with you.

and old man played
thinking about the only women he ever loved
and he knows she's waiting for him there
singing hay hay baby I'm in love with you.

The old man sings hay hay baby I'm in love with you.

    nice. reminds me of a few things I've written about old bluesmen. :D
