Anyone else love him a bit? He can be ugly and gorgeous in the space of a few seconds... and I don't think he's ever played the same character twice. I think he's one of the most versatile actors out there at the mo.

 well breakfast on pluto was the first one I've seen him in and thought 'interesting' but he's the kinda actor who has the balls to do something like that  he's not really afraid of any character and is not in danger of being typecast. Have you seen 'the wind that shakes the barley'? Think that's where I fell in love with him... and sunshine confirmed that for me. Perriers bounty is pretty decent too... oh... and... INTERMISSION! Brilliant film!

Not yet. This is the one i've been wanting to see. Is it a true story? or just set in that time?

Yeh that's true but for me he's been the star of every film he's been in and I always just want to see more of him.

I don't think it's a true story... but it's probably based on a few of them... it's a good portrayal of how things became the way they are now. It has a feel of a very cheaply made film and most of the 'actors' aren't actors at all  but the main actors and the storyline manage to make it well worth watching... have a box of tissues beside ya too

My other half (who's English) went pretty quite towards the end. It's strange... he WANTS to see these films... I would never suggest them but he gets it. It's a pretty powerful story... the backdrop is historically accurate but I don't know about the characters portrayed.

Turns out Christopher Nolan loves him  he asked him to audition for the part of batman but he turned it down and then later got offered scarecrow. I think he's the kinda actor that something needs to be written for... he deserves something meaty.

I dunno, he always has a creepy aura about him in the films I've seen him in. I don't dislike him, but I've yet to see anything mind-blowingly good from him.

    I love Cillian Murphy.
As far as the more famous irish actors of his age range go, he kicks the ass of jonathan rhys myers, imo.

Yeh, I don't think the two are comparable... I dunno how Rhys Meyers got as far as he has to be honest... he annoys me... his mouth annoys me, his voice annoys me, the length of his face annoys me :? and his acting annoys me.

I just dont' think there's anyone as interesting as Murphy out there at the moment.

:D Yep, that's it! I always seem to fancy the bad ones... luckily it hasn't carried over to real life but he can't understand why I root for people like Javier Bardem in no country for old men :D
