I'm pretty sure Eddie is not getting any money from the Cubs and his writing/performing of the song is based on his love for the team. Dropkick Murphys did the same thing for the Red Sox in 2004.

Born and raised in Evanston Illionois, a Cubs fan.. How more fucking obvious does it need to be???
  • Well, you know, it is his profession and all... I'd hate for someone to put into question how I make my money... doubt anyone else would appreciate that around here... just sayin'

i never thought anyone could write a better song dedicated to the team they love, but eddie topped tessie. they are both great songs.

tessie was written back in the early 20th century. the murphys merely made it thier own.
  • I always thought Vedder was a sox fan until a couple of years ago. I just remember seeing him on SNL way back in the early 90s with a White Sox cap on and just assumed he was a fan.

Yeah of those two I'm not sure which one I like better yet. However as far as baseball rally songs go I prefer this one over both:

He was friends w/ Jack McDowell back in the 90s.

Yeah, if Ernie Banks asks you to do something, it's pretty much a given it'll happen. :)

I am a lifelong Red Sox fan, but I gotta say that the whole Red Sox nation-thing is pretty lame. That and the pink hat crew.
