I was thinking of looking for PJ vinyls, is there anything I need to think of,
I don't want to buy any bad copies/unofficial ones.....

Is there any numbers or anything to look for?

I haven't bought any vinyls since the late 80's apart from Zappa which I'm collecting as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Peace

  • It depends what you are looking for. Therés the Christmas Singles(Apart form the early ones fairly easy to get - and as far as I know there are no fakes). Then there are the vinyl albums(Binaural, Live on Two legs and the self titled new one are the only ones that are really unatainable)

The vinyl singles are fairly easy to find. I don't know of any that are particularly hard to find. Then there are the vinyl 12" singles form the early 90s, again not particularly rare.

Rare is Benaroya hall and Soldier field - both concerts on vinyl. These are very limited. Benaroya Hall goes on ebay fairly regularly and sells for aroudn $500-1000.

That lot is off the top of my head. You should be able to find some more specific information on the internets.

Thank you, I'll be checking the used vinyl markets in Sweden.
So if I find benaroya or soldier field for a good price I should be happy, right?

    Thanks again for the info!

  • Benaroya and Soldier Field cropping up in a record store is very unlikely. I found this site:

    http://www.xs4all.nl/~groenf/vinyl_albums.html

This kind of answers any question you should have.

don't even hope finding benaroya in a store.
there's one on ebay right now:
    http://cgi.befr.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300197578848&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=020
I found a copy for about $300 about 1 year ago.

Live on 2 legs, yield, no code cost me about $80 each.
Ten, Vs, vitalogy and riot act are cheaper and can be found for about 20 or 30$.
Rearviewmirror and lost dogs are often around $40.
    Good luck !

what do you mean by "original" ?
it's notthe original pressing of 1991 but the music is the same.
180 grams vinyl are thicker than the usual vinyls.

    dont over pay...

all vinyl on ebay right now is jacked up pretty good because of the buzz from the Into the wild... stuff is going for nearly twice what it was 2 months ago... let the vinyl hype die down in a month or two and then go get your stuff

    trust me
