WHAT A LIVE SHOW
Them boys can play and have a sick twisted groove...
Wow -
Anyone else dig "Wagon Wheel" or "Alabama High Test"?

Great show - I will go everytime they come around

  • They're a lot of fun live. Not my fave type of music, but the concert was exceptional.
"That's part of the curse: If you're gonna play the song, you better play it. I've tried to phone in "Jeremy" a few times, and it's tough. It doesn't work."

They're fucking sweet. I've got all their shit, and have seen them a couple times live. Good shit. Can't wait to see them again. Speaking of which, gotta check out if they're on their way around here.

EDIT: I was going to write that Mumford & Douches could learn a thing or two from these guys, but FUCK, they're opening for those d-bags.

I got into them after I got into The Felice Brothers who are fucking awesome. Everyone who likes Old Crow.. needs to check out The Felice Brothers. Not exactly the same kind of stuff, but similar and fucking awesome.

JP, The Felice Brothers will be at Johnny Brendas Oct. 23rd. Ways a way, but I highly recommend you go.

Hmmm. I'll have to check it out. A friend of a buddy of mine has a band called Mason Porter - really good local band along the same lines. I was planning on seeing them at Folk Fest, but unfortunately don't think I'm gonna be able to make it - highly underrated music fest. Get out there if you can.

    Anyway, they're good shit - http://masonporter.com/home/

The Felice Brothers are fantastic and are an incredible band live. Definitely check it out. I just saw them up at Ommegang in Cooperstown, they had a little festival which was outstanding. 4 or 5 bands, great beer, a fire at the end of the night then camped out there. Needless to say I drank WAYYYYY too much.

I heard folk fest was a good time and have been wanting to go. I think AA Bondy is there this year, hes another great one. I will check that band out.

Caught them when they toured as part of the Dave Rawlings Machine. Fantastic show, definitely would go see them again.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Damnit. I've been meaning to get up to that beer fest for a while now. A buddy of mine volunteered to work it last year - aka drank for free all weekend.

The thing I went to was actually the week before the huge beer fest. This was $20 for tickets and camping, then all Ommegang and Duvel beers were $4. They had a huge tent with 4 or 5 bands. It was outstanding, and a much smaller crowd than the following week for the beer fest. I would like to go to the beer fest but this was one hell of a time.

Word. I'll have to check it out. I think I'm headed to upstate NY in October for some camping and salmon fishing. Looking forward to it.

Checking the email my buddy sent me....looks like the campground we're staying at is called Stoney's Pineville, in Pulaski.

EDIT: Looking at it on a map now. God damn that is up there.

I know it well, have done plenty of salmon fishing in the Salmon River. My family had a couple cottages about an hour or so north of there on the Thousand Islands. Great area. It is a ways north but it is outstanding.

Pulaski will probably take you about 4.5-5 hours from Philly

Word. Yeah, people are saying they want to leave ass early Saturday to get up there - like 2 am. But I'm putting my foot down and saying we're leaving Friday night or it's off. There's no way I'm doing that just to stay up there one night. I say even if people can't get off work, we leave Philly at the latest at 6. Get up there late, but so what. I'd rather crash and spend my morning getting my shit together up there - oh, yeah, plus another night smoking and drinking in the woods.

We did cooperstown for one night but that was different. I would not do something like that for one night. I would most definitely take off friday, get up there and have a good night friday.

That's what I suggested, but people are bitching that they can't even take a half a day. So I think 6 is going to be the best time I can shoot for.

Ah well, I would definitely suggest trying to get up there on Friday though. It will be a good time, man. I will definitely be up there some time this fall.

I've seen OCMS three times in the past 5 yrs. Always a great show!

What's wrong w/ Mumford & Sons? I like what they offer, but it's not as earthy as OCMS.

First and foremost, I cannot absolutely stand that dude's voice. And two, their whole shtick seems forced.
