Had to share this tidbit from my homepaage :

Looking like a cross between a rat and an octopus, the star-nosed mole would be a good candidate for the title of world's weirdest-looking creature..

f'ing ewww ! A Rat with 22 arms ( okay they call them appendages ...... and its actually a " Mole " ) !

You forget to mention that the 22 appendages were on the mole's nose.

I like how the video showed a glass see-through view of those appendages in action, detecting a bit of something edible amongst a pile of dirt, and then eating it.

I'm so glad I watched that life fulfilling video because I know I can now die.

The Deep Sea Hatchetfish or Argyropelecus gigas has large sunken eyes that are permanently looking upwards towards the surface. These odd eyes help them find the food that is floating downwards towards the bottom. As you can tell from the pictures though, these eyes also make them look like the psychos of the ocean!

Move over star-nosed mole, here comes that debilitatingly-cute, self-illuminating, deep-sea creature, the Anglerfish:

"Their most distinctive feature, worn only by females, is a piece of dorsal spine that protrudes above their mouths like a fishing pole—hence their name. Tipped with a lure of luminous flesh this built-in rod baits prey close enough to be snatched. Their mouths are so big and their bodies so pliable, they can actually swallow prey up to twice their own size." (from http://kozar.wordpress.com/2010/06/04/7 ... creatures/)

I have to ask whether you resisted saying "holy moly" on purpose.
Because you just said "holy" nothing. and..... there's the picture...
Was it purposeful or did you really just get that close and stop?
