figurative forevers

do you remember
beginning to forget?
i wish i could recall
the exact moment that details started to dissipate,
when words from separate occasions
blended, beneficially, to form an eloquence never achieved in reality.
but even this slowly faded,
and as time marches on
to that point of convergence
the words are carried along,
gently jostled as they slowly shrink
until too miniscule to be of any consequence.

but even now, after literal years and figurative forevers,
i can always picture
the angle of your eyes,
and the crook
of your smile...
"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."

Very nice job. I really enjoyed that and it struck a chord with me.
