No comment because the only way MT progressives can debate the Tea Party is with their juvenile name calling. So now that ignorant, hick and racist has been debunked....... they have nothing left …

Do you have anything ever to add besides smart ass comments ? I didn't think so. This is all you ever do no matter what the subject is. You can't win on the issues so you act like a 12 year old.. Or you try to get me pissed off so that I will say somthing so you can report me to the mods like a little cry baby.

and you say I'm the 12 year old...

for the record, I've never reported you or anyone to the mods...

and just because a few blacks were at a tea party, it doesn't suddenly dismiss the racial undercurrent in the tea party...I know you really really really...really want that to be true...but it's not...

    finally, relax...please...

I agree that SOME of the Tea party are intelligent people who just want what they feel is best for the country.

However, the ones we see on TV are (for the most part) idiots.

  • We stand for LIMITED,RESPONSIBLE,CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT.We are honorable, tax paying, law abiding american citizens. If you don't stand for that then you don't stand for american society. Some of you have spent the last year and 1/2 trying to tear us down and trying to paint a picture of us that does not exist and Im sick of it. :x

Can you explain in detail what this means specifically? This stuff sounds like mere rhetorical catch phrases than actual substance and detail for what you believe. Limited and responsible constitutional government can be applied to any area you please, it's vague and only means what you consider morally acceptable (which varies). And what exactly does "honorable" citizens encompass? Does that refer to religion or perhaps being a good, obedient worker? Please be more specific so we understand what you're advocating here.

It means exactly what it says.. If you cant comprehend that than I don't know what to tell you..
  • FiveB247xFiveB247x Posts: 2,330
I ask because it's vague non-specific talk... it's no different from me saying, "everyone should like good things". And when you ask me what "good things" refers too, I say, how could you not know? Being specific in your comments on a message board can only help others to understand your opinion and perspective (whether they agree with you or not).

Now we know why they don't understand what the Tea Party is. They don't understand what LIMITED,RESPONSIBLE,CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT is...though it has been explained on here several times.....They tear down the Tea Party because they are afraid of what they don't understand.

prfctlefts thinks if he can find a few black people who support the Tea Party or a few Muslims who are against the building of the mosque in NYC, it gives it any more legitimacy. it doesn't. I can find you the names of a few black people who fought for the confederates in the Civil War and were hoping to return as slaves after the war ended. it doesn't make them smart and they don't represent their race or religion, they're just fucking idiots.

you may find black people or gay people or even Muslims who support the tea party, but that doesn't make the large amount of the movement's supporters who are racist, intolerant, and fighting for bullshit causes any less racist, intolerant, or useless.

I think almost every last single one of us does want "limited, responsible, constitutional government" but we can't just go by your feelings or interpretations of those words. The problem is defining those terms and agreeing on them, especially the "limited" part. There is a helluva lot of gray area in that word. The average "liberal" may have a different idea of where to draw the line than the average "conservative" but I'll bet dollars to donuts those two sides agree on many fundamental issues. As far as "responsibile", I gaurantee no one here wants the government to actually waste money or resources. Now "consitutional"...some of us maybe would like to see certain things changed or updated, and that's cool, but even if everyone in the United States was a strict "constitutionalist" there still would be myriad disagreements over that document and what it is conveying. The funny thing is there is a very key part of the constitution that deals directly with that called the Supreme Court.

I think that is why one of the posters called them "rhetorical catchphrases".

Tea party members on this board are hysterical.

I want a responsible, limited, constitutional government!!!

as long as it denies gays, Mexicans, mosque building, unlimited money for "spreading democracy", support for Israel at any cost, denies choice, etc. etc. etc.
