Taking the GMAT

So I'm thinking about my MBA and taking the GMAT this winter. Has anyone here taken the GMAT? I'm also thinking about spending money on a 3 month prep course this fall. Any experience shared would be very helpful, thank you.

    I took the GRE for grad school and before I spent tons of cash and more importantly time, I just took the exam cold. I needed x for a score to get in and scored x+15 so it was close but I made the score. It would have been worth the cost of the test to save the time etc. In the end it worked. Good luck either way.
