My closest buddy always has these awesome weekend plans. They take off and camp, or bike, or like this weekend Sat is kayaking, a dance that evening, water volleyball party Sunday and dinner birthday celebration for a friend that evening. Weekend full! This is the norm.

Us, we have no plans, hardly ever. Not complaining just saying. Not much for me to say when we email about our weekends the following week. I feel I live vicariously through her a bit.

So how about you guys? Do you, as a rule, have weekends that are full of all kinds of fun stuff or weekends usually open to do whatever that ends up as not much of anything?

I may have one or two things I plan on doing on a weekend, but I very rarely jam pack my weekends ahead of time. I prefer to take it as it comes. It all depends on my mood. Sometimes I feel like just hanging out watching baseball all weekend.

Well with 3 kids, generally there is a ton of birthday parties or sleepovers that require my expert transporation skills...
In addition, the Mrs and I always have an outstanding date night either with other couples or solo on Saturday...
Try to do one family activity every weekend but it's usually a day time decision...

I'm not that into football, I'm a total baseball fanatic. But that being said, I do usually spend Sunday's watching football once the season gets going.

So I guess I'm pretty much a couch potato too.

This summer has been so GD hot here you can't do anything outside unless there is a cold body of water within 10 feet. At least this pre-menapausal woman can't.

We usually have plans on weekend, we have no kids yet so our weekends for now are ours! Lately it's been a lot of 30th b-day parties, bonfires, BBQ's and a few road trips. This weekend in particular is pretty busy, tonight bonfire at our house, tomorrow a 3 yr old's b-day party in the afternoon and a 30th b-day party in the evening. I can't complain I love our friends and we might as well take advantage of it now while we can :D

  • I have one standing plan for every weekend: drink as much beer as I can
Beyond that, I just wait to see what happens most of the time. Cookouts with close friends are frequent during the summer and occasionally there's a good show to go to or something. Sometimes there's a spur of the moment type of thing that comes up, but in general I'm up all night and sleep most all day on Saturday and Sunday. Me and my favorite lady often hit the casino on Saturday nights to catch the band playing there.
This Saturday we're buying the UFC ppv and grilling.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

  • We had a stretch of traveling on weekends this summer, but now our weekends usually involve doing stuff around the house... It seems like my list of crap that I need to do with the house or cars gets bigger every week, and outside of doing some family stuff, a lot of it is spent working on stuff.

About half of my weekends in a month are spent travelling to see family....usually to help somebody with some sort of project.

The rest are usually spent at home, open for whatever event might occur. Mostly though, I sit in my recliner and watch TV or read because, as my wife puts it, I'm not much of a 'social butterfly'.

As the less I want to do on the weekends.
hanging out in the neighborhood with neighbors and friends
is fine with me. My wife on the other hand would rather
    do more.

During the week I am in disguise as my alter-ego, Dan. Then Friday hits and eyed emerges, strips naked, and runs through the woods. In fact, I'm heading to Glacier in just a few hours to look for grizzlies.
