Anyone hear that PJ are playing this festival this year?

http://www.rockwerchter.be/RW2008/site/index.asp

A very reliable source put it to me that Pearl Jam were DEFINATLEY playing there in July! - He said an announcement will be made on the 20th of this month.

Anybody shed any light?

well they played it last year, so i would think it is pretty unlikely!
    2003 - Sydney x3,
    2006 - Reading Festival,
2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,
    2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,
    2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,
2010 - I watched it go to fire!
    2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,
    2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,
    2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

    Hmmm let's see...

Playing shows in a US election year... or, playing Europe for the third year in a row.

    Take a guess.

I wouldn't completely rule out them doing Euro festivals, though I think it very unlikely (I wish it happened though :p)

but Werchter 2 years running. absolutely NOT. 200%.
festivals NEVER book the same headliners 2 years in a row. EVER.
    point, end of story.

I did hear a very credible rumour around the time of the Lolla show that said that the band had signed on for 2 years to play each of the festivals that they did in 2007. It was not totally clear whether the second year of those contracts was 2008, but it certainly sounded like it to me...

    Who knows...

Sounds like total B/S to me, why would a festival book an act for 2 years in a row or book years ahead when who knows what the musical landscape will be. There's no way this will happen this year and highly unlikely they'll come back to Europe this year after 2 years straight. As much as we'd all love them to, lets be realistic.

I know the mighty PJ won't play in it.

Muse headlined Werchter 2 years in the row and Metallica played it 5 times, so the point is not that they were there last year...

More bands will be announced for Werchter, uncle Neil will be there on day 2 and the lineup of that day is pretty weak compared to the other days... so you never know !!!!!

Are you joking, there's no way they'll play, they're playing Boston on June 30th and Werchter is July 3-6. Sorry I just can't see it. as much as I'd love them to as I'll be back in the UK then and am thinking about going.

I'm flying back from Boston (or NY, still got to get the flight) to the UK on the 2nd, then on to Belgium for Werchter the next day.

but to see REM, Neil Young, Cornell, Ben Harper, Radiohead, etc.

not a chance in hell of PJ, even if they hadn't played there last year!

Pinkpop, running May 30th - June 1st in Landgraaf, The Netherlands had PJ booked last year I remember, but their performance was cancelled. It would be great if they visited this year (plus: it is even greater because I have tix ;=).

It is in the neighborhood for all Werchter visitors, and hasn't been visited in a long time, I say all the more reason for PJ to play there this year !
