i'm kind of surprised that with so many politically minded folks on this board noone has mentioned the flobots on this forum. (at least no results came from my search)

they are from here, and i had the pleasure of seeing them open for rage against the machine at the DNC (among a few other shows i've been to) and i was just wondering if there were any other fans here :)

imagine hearing "Handlebars" for the time while on mushrooms. Imagine the laughter that ensued on the first line.

I like Handlebars, but from what I've read they're a little too political. As in, entire albums worth of nonstop politics. That's a little too monotonous for my blood.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

yeah, they are super political. i discovered them cause they are locals, and i didn't even realize that handlebars had gotten as big as it did. they are definitely not for everyone.

  • I like 'em. Anne Braden is one of my favorite songs ever and I have Fight With Tools on vinyl. I'd like to see these guys go on tour with Dead Prez. I am still getting used to Survival Story, though.

I think more people would like them if they gave them a chance. The drummer is sick, the words are thoughtful and honest. How many live hip hop bands are there? Not too many, much less, one with a violinist.
