Hey guys, many of you know I play Stone in the New Jersey based pearl jam tribute band, No Code (www.nocodejam.com)
From 1992-2000, Stone favored the Hamer Duotone as his main "acoustic" guitar for songs like Daughter and the like.
In 2000, (as evidenced by Daughter on TB2k dvd), you'll see that Stone is playing a Fender guitar for his acoustic tone.
Here's the latest information via George Webb, Pearl Jam's full time technician:
Stone has three (3) 2000 American Vintage '62 reissue Fender Stratocasters (black, Sherwood green, and sunburst) all fitted with Fishman Powerbridges for dual acoustic/electric functionality. However, Stone's guitars do no not use the stock Fishman pre-amp supplied with the Powerbridge. We use a special EMG on-board pre-amp with the Powerbridge to gain extra flexibility in adjusting output volume, treble, mids, and lows (of the acoustic tone only). We ourselves "borrowed" this set-up from Pete Townshend who (at least at the time, if not still) used it in his own Strats for acoustic/electric combinations.
Output from the instrument has to be done using a TRS (tip/ring/sleeve, or "stereo") cable, whereupon it is then split off into two separate mono signals - one carrying the electric signal, and one carrying the acoustic.
