Just a guess, but maybe from watching SOLAT on Unplugged when Eddie puts his hand, formed like a gun, in his mouth...

have you looked up the lyrics?!?!?
Ohh
State of love and trust as I busted down the pretext
Sin still plays and preaches but to have an empty court uh huh
And the signs are passing grip the wheel can't read it
Sacrifice receiving the smell that's on my hands hands yeah
And I listen for the voice inside my head
Nothing I'll do this one myself
Lay her down as priest does should the lord be a counting
Will be in my honor make it pain painfully clear uh huh
Promises are whispered in the age of darkness
Want to be enlightened like I want to be told the end end yeah
And the barrel shakes aimed a-directly at my head
Oh help me help me from myself yeah
And I listen yeah for the voice inside my head
Nothing I'll do this one myself
Uh huh
Myself myself
Yeah yeah
Hey na na na na hey that's something (x3)
Wanna back back it away yeah yeah
And I listen yeah for the voice inside my head
Nothing I'll do this one myself yeah
And the barrel waits, trigger shakes, aimed right at my head
Won't you help me help me from myself
Woo hey ooh
Hey ooh (x6)
Waah state of love and trust and a
State of love and trust and a (x2)
State of love and yeah yeah
I can definitely see the suicide aspect, but i dont think thats the main theme. Its definitely an underlying theme, but Its just one of those songs that i dont worry about the meaning.... I just rock out

Maybe it's the gun barrel aimed directly at his head, with the shaking trigger. There's definitely a contemplation of suicide in the lyrics. ("Help me from myself.")
As I mentioned on another thread, I think it's about a man who kills someone, perhaps accidentally, and after attempting to bury the body in vain hope of appeasing God ("lay her down as priest does, should the Lord be counting"), thinks about killing himself, too.
In fact, going line by line, I don't know what else it could be about, frankly. It seems almost straightforward.
for the least they could possibly do
the only thing is that our protagonist can not get to that point, that he is forever being distracted and misguided by the voices in his mind and head, tempting him, and seducing him to give in to other (quick) pleasures. and then eventually, it seems as if killing himself (killing the voices in his head) is the only way to get relieved from the constant rambling of the mind in these matters.
to me, it seems as if the song is about a consumerist approach to relationships and how hard and frustrating it can be to get beyond that, to get to something on another level. a song about the intricate yet ever so difficult balance between the heart (that knows) and mind (that is constantly elsewhere, craving new experiences and triggers).. .
