My wife and I are visiting Seattle next week and we are both big PJ fans. Are there any "must-see" places that we should visit related to the band? I definitely plan on stopping by Easy Street records (we are going to miss the Brad show by one day) but wanted to know other suggestions.

Any recommendations on other places to go in/near Seattle would be appreciated (restaurants, bars, etc). We may also roadtrip up to Vancouver and Whistler for a day or two.

Thanks!

    emp is awesome

    and a great great restaruant

the pink door in post alley ....cabaret night friday or sat real good time ...trust me
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......
  • Lower Queen Anne district has a lot of cool cafes, restaraunts, and shops plus Easy Street Records. If you are a Jimi Hendrix fan The Experience Music Project IS a must see, plus it has a section dedicated to the Seattle bands. But I was really disapointed in the lack of PJ memorobilia. Do the Pike Place Market & the original Starbucks. "Access Seattle" is a really good guide book if you can get to a book store.
Enjoy your visit. It is a very beautiful city!

Literally just got back from my first trip to Seattle in over 20 years Tuesday. Made sure I saw the Off Ramp(the El Cor name is correct), Benaroyal Hall, the Showbox, etc. Also Discovery Park is cool--where the Hunger Strike video was shot, plus a beautiful view of Mt Rainier. There's a cool Hendrix statue up on Capital Hill area, and the PJ HQ(Ten Club, Vitalogy Foundation, etc.) is out by the Boeing Airport. Those were things I checked out. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far (and please keep them coming).

We will definitely be checking out the croc cafe and el corazon. We will also be making the drive to Vancouver/Whistler. Any recommendations for when we are up there (restaurants, pubs)? I think we will be going up there to hike and mountain bike and would love to get ideas for other things to do.

Its too bad that the 10C doesn't have a retail store in Seattle. I could do some shopping in person and save money on poster shipping costs. :)

I love 'the 5 point cafe' on 5th Ave, a few blocks from Seattle Center & Space Needle. Good old greasy spoon, I heard that it's not on the menu, but you can ask for bacon pancakes and they'll make them, chicken fried steak is really good too. I always play PJ and MLB on the jukebox when I'm there. (See the Space Needle from the periscope in the men's bathroom) http://www.the5pointcafe.com/About.php
The 'Sound Garden' Sculpture is in Magnuson Park (yes, the band named themselves after the sculpture) Magnuson Park is located at 7400 Sand Point Way N.E http://www.seattle.gov/parks/magnuson/

Ye Ole Curisoty Shoppe (cheezy tourist shop/Ripley's Museum) http://www.yeoldecuriosityshop.com/

These are all within walking distance (hope you like to walk! That's why from the waterfront to Pike Place they call it 'the climb' ) http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/
okay, I'll stop now...have fun, the weather is going to be nice 75ish (that's what the weather guy says now) :D

  • Make sure to check out "Troll Under the Bridge" and Gasworks. Gasworks is where they filmed the end of Stardog Champion. Plus, it has a great view of the city!

I took the bus out to visit London Bridge Studio where Ten and Temple were made. Lucky enough to find the studio "closed" for repairs so got a chance to look through. On a more tourist-y tack over the bridge to Discovery Park was nice. So much music on every day.
