if i had to do it over again, i would have stayed on 2.1
biggest complaint is sprint turned off the internet sharing function, so i know have to use pdanet. not a big deal, but my download speeds dropped from 4megs to 1.3megs. now maybe last night, the network was slower than normal since people were downloading froyo (84 megs per person). but it doesn't seem like that should slow it down that much.
even when i test the speed on the evo, i top out at 2.5 ish, where as, normal before was in teh 4's.
the flash is nice, although it's a bit slow loading pages with it.

Really?
I'm not so patiently waiting for Froyo for my X I'm surprised you got reduced performance. Everyone said it would make things quicker...... :?

speed...programs are suppose to run faster, but i haven't really noticed it yet. i've only played with it a little since downloading, so that may change. everything ran pretty fast on my phone before, but i don't run a ton of programs, mostly internet, and a few small apps to check stocks, sports, maps. i'm not a heavy app user. i also kill off everything every now and then to try and keep the memory free.
flash is a nice feature. it runs fine with a little flash, heavy flash (stubhub) is brutal. thankfully, you can set it to use on demand. when you run across a piece of flash, you can click a little green down area on the screen to get it to work.
data speeds seem to be a little better today. i'll be testing that some more when i get home. this was my biggest gripe last night. it still irks me that they turned off the internet sharing option that we had with 2.1
it does have some nice features, like being able to attach stuff (pics, vid, music) to text messages.
all in all, don't get overly excited about froyo. its better, but it's not likely to knock your socks off.
if you get bored and want to read more on it, check out the evo forum on androidforums.com it's a pretty popular topic today.
81 is now off the air

good news for some of you
Samsung also said on their site that the Froyo update is currently being tested for the Captivate and Fascinate and a release for late December is being aimed for.
