I've always been fond of drums etc and my bro told me about Dennis Chambers. I downloaded anything I could find that he was in because from just youtube videos I knew he was fucking amazing. Anyway some of his projects: Niacin, Uncle Moes Space Ranch, John Scofield and Greg Howe are just amazing. I just love the whole amazing drums, but also there are cool spacey bluesy soloy bits which s anything thing I really like.

If anyone has any other recommendations like Dennis Chambers then lemme know :)

    Denins Chambers is freaking insane.

If you like Dennis, check out:

    Billy Cobham (god)
Dave Weckl (has a lot of cheese unfortunately)
    Vinnie Colaiuta
    Steve Smith
    Lenny White
    Tony Williams
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"

This list is spot on. Just saw Dennis Chambers two nights in a row with Santana. Also had the pleasure of finally seeing Vinnie Colaiuta with Herbie Hancock.

If you have not checked out John Mclaughlin and the Heart of Things: Live in Paris, go get it quick. Dennis kills as well as the rest of the band. This might be one of the best Fusion bands ever assembled.

I was supposed to see Dave Weckl play with Mike Stern a few years ago. Outside the venue was a sign that Dave could not attend because of a family emergency.

Fear not though, they said, because filling in for Dave would be none other than

    yup

    Mr. Dennis Chambers.

F'ing blew the room away that night.

Billy Cobham - A Funky Thide of Sings
    Lenny White - Venusian Summer

Almost done with Lenny White's Anomaly. I'm more into crazy ass badass drums like Dennis Chambers, like this record has been groovey but want more drumming tbh.

Then Billy is your man. I am pretty sure Dennis Chambers' main influence was Billy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRWD2jS5qlY - Funky and down right NASTY drumming

If you want monster drumming, buy Cobham's first solo disc "Spectrum".

Another guy to check out: Dave King from The Bad Plus. Absolute monster, especially live.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugPIpfZnNa8
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4auW8F8mQE

Such a simple setup, but he pounds the crap out of his set.

Check out Steely Dan's "Alive in America"...fantastic disc (one of the best live albums EVER) and the main reason it sounds better than most every other studio/concert Steely Dan record:
    Dennis Chambers :)

Guys a beast, his work with Victor Wooten & Stanley Clarke is unbelievable...

Dennis did a clinic @ Daddy's Junky Music in CT about 10 years ago that was mesmerizing...

Incredible musician. Glad you enjoy him :)

    GREAT disc.

    You also need to hear:

    Spectrum
    Crosswinds
    A Funky Thide Of Sings
    Shabazz

And look for the Rudiments Anthology, and specifically the song "Neu Rock 'N Roll (outtake)"

One drummer in this area that's always been underrated is Jon Hiseman of Colosseum II. Check out the albums 'Electric Savage' and 'Wardance'. Very much in the jazz-rock/fusion vein, and very badass.
