From Interpol mailing list:
Its almost time for you to hear the whole thing. Almost...but not yet.

Still, if you want to guarantee you'll get our new record right away, you can preorder Interpol now on our website: http://www.interpolnyc.com .

We even made a special poster and a limited-edition t-shirt for the occasion.

The poster is available only for preorder, so after September 7th, its gone. The t-shirt is soft. We made sure.

In the U.S., you can also pre order the album from iTunes here. For the rest of the world, you can pre order the album from iTunes here.

For our friends in the US we hope to see you in October and November. You are the first to know about our US tour that is planned for the fall.

We will also be premiering 'Barricade' on Letterman this Thursday. Tune in!

You'll be hearing again from us very soon. Until then.

I just saw them Saturday night. Great show.

I just saw them on Sunday at Rams Head Live in Baltimore...good show, but why are they almost completely ignoring their last album? They only played one song from it...

I was also shocked that they couldn't sell out a 4200 capacity venue. Not that it matters, but I thought they had a decent size fanbase?

I'm looking forward to seeing them again this fall and I wouldn't be disappointed if they only played one or two songs from Our Love To Admire. I really didn't care much for that album. I think Lights is only a so-so song. I'm holding out hope that the rest of the tracks on the new album are better.

Yea I was hoping for more from 'Our Love to Admire'. 'Pace is the Trick' is one of the best songs they have ever made.

I was really hoping to hear Pioneer to the Falls and Rest My Chemistry, but alas. I like that whole album a lot. I guess they don't, hahahaha...

It's tremendously underrated. I've never understood all the hate for it.

i think it has to do with the album being incredibly boring and underwhelming

Honestly, it sounds just like the other Interpol albums to me. I feel like they are very consistent, both with style and quality, that I'm surprised people really feel so strongly about it. I always feel like I know exactly what I'm going to get with an Interpol album...

I must be in the minority, though, because even the band seems to feel as mookeywrench does.

Rest My Chemistry is so good!

it sounded like they were trying to branch away from the style of their first two albums, but they had no idea where to go. So they gave up and settled on these in between songs.

kinda like planning on making a killer omelette, then settling for scrambled eggs midway through cooking.

Sure it's no 'Turn On the Bright Lights' but what is? TOTBL is a masterpiece. I honestly think OLTA is comparable to Antics...maybe a step below but nothing that drastic.

I really like Antics. The depth is not there like TOTBL, but it's an album I can put on, listen to all the way through for 30 minutes and enjoy it. Our Love To Admire just does nothing for me. The songs seem like there wasn't much thought put into them like they were required to put out another album and just threw something together.
  • I'm looking at this release with a bit of trepidation. I thought Turn On The Bright Lights was fantastic and Antics was pretty good, but couldn't hold a candle to their debut. Then Our Love To Admire was released and it just didn't do it for me.

So, I'm hoping for a return to form for this album.
It's gonna be a glorious day...
