Wedding ring found carefully tucked away,
her husband's weary frown, somber silence.
A quiet black dog.
Closet full of clothes hanging for no one,
an empty kitchen.
Daughter's sad smile, exhausted hug,
a telephone that doesn't ring.
Open bar stool.
Motionless car.
Grocery list unwanted.
Granddaughter's tiny cry not to be answered,
Grandson's pool tricks without praise.
Tearful memory shared amongst friends.
A toast to the sky, a forced smile.
One laugh missing.
Young man's tribute, remembers the chili.
Recipes yet to get.
Garden left unattended.
Dead flowers in a vase.
Lonely, black star filled night.
Tears, to many to be counted.
Peace still out of reach.

it is so sad...so sad, her loved ones.
the whys go unanswered
and life feels unfinished for those that love and miss her.

yes, already a month time is all that heals, they say.
i know it's hard to believe now
but time does heal
you'll remember the fondest things
sometimes it will still hurt,
but will also be sweet
sometimes you'll be reminded of your loss
but time will heal
and hearts will lighten
and you'll rejoice
for the time you had here on this earth
love never dies
its been 5 years since my Pop passed
and I remember the best things
the funny things
other times don't feel so important
any more
like i said
time heals
but that's not to say you won't miss her
the other night i was watching a movie
sandra bullock
and she was sitting
with her father
he hadl alzheimers
didn't remember her
and then suddenly, he did
and he opened his arms to her
and they danced
and i cried, and cried and cried
and although i cried
the memories were bittersweet
and i'm happy to have had
the time together
in this lifetime
i'll see him in the next
i'm sure he's waiting for me
there
i know that you'll get to that point too
it just takes time
be sound
peace
hugs

I had a similar thing happen to me with a movie. It's been 20 years since I lost my father. In 2000 a Walter Matthau movie came out, it was to be his last. Matthau an actor my father loved. Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton, Lisa Kudrow play his daughters. It's called "Hanging Up". It's an awesome movie about father/daughter and sister/sister relationships, very touching but not always sweet. Complicated a tear jerker. You might like it I think.
Thank you again for your kindness and sharing
