BP Trying to Silence Science on Oil Spill?

Scientists and academics are accusing the energy giant of trying to buy influence to protect itself after the spill.

The head of the American Association of Professors is accusing BP of trying to buy silence from scientists.
BP is facing lawsuits after the oil spill, which has destroyed the livelihoods of many along the Gulf coast.
The company said it "does not place restrictions on academics speaking about scientific data."

    they wouldn't want anyone to know how much worse the dispersants are making the situation now would they?

    there are so many well out there, many of them leaking...it is real sad .

    If people really knew all of what was going on the world would collapse into anarchy

    and now the other day..the media reports

    the storm (hurricane/Tropical dx.not sure what it ended up to be) has plowed through here, and apparently did no damage, because we are not seeing any oil floating on the surface, or dispersed just below the surface....

    or something along those lines

    duh!
    it doesn't take an idiot like me to figure out that OF COURSE there wouldn't be NOW when the storm has blown it all over half the globe for pete's sake

    Latest news on the Oil drama:
    US scientists confirm that 75 % of all the oil has gone already by ships that absorbed it, by chemicals spread all over, by natural processes, by burning it down.
    Only 25 % of all the oil (around 800 Millions of litres) is still in the sea...

    This statement is even published in the German paper "Der Spiegel".
    However, at least the german journalist adds that nobody knows about the effects the oil has in deepest water...

    but we act as if: when nobody knows there shouldn't be any problem...

    Am I the only one who question this new study?
    We saw a short news doc about the US media: they announce that it is healthy already again to eat the fish catched in the Golf.
    The headline goes: As long as the fish or crab is living, they are healthy!

    Why can't I trust it? Neither our media or the US one.

    I hope you are right!
    I hope ppl realize that they aren't sheeps... I am not so sure about this awareness anymore, at least speaking for Germany...

    I mean, if the Spiegel does Not question the study but publishes as fact, i loose all hope again.
    This paper is the most serious and independ one around Germany... oh wehh... what to do, whom to trust, how do act.... just gimme back my hope.

    eh BP has admitted to the spill. everytime i turn on the tv i see some lame pr attempt to show how much they are doing to clean it up.

    It's fucking scary and nuts how they expect us to believe everythings A-okay. We can't predict the long term outcome of all this. Even Prez O.B takes his family vaca down there to promote tourism in that area and tell us its okay. IT"S FUCKED..
