I love Kings of Leon, probably my second favorite band to Pearl Jam, but in this case...what do you think PJ would do, or any other band for that matter? Just curious on people's take on this ridiculous story.

wait so the two opening bands had the cajones to tought it out and came of the stage covered in pigeon shit, and kings of leon bailed after 3 songs?

I guess I should give some Kudos out to the opening acts.

I wouldnt really expect any band to put up with that for their fans

IMO Eddie would say something to sum it up perfectly as he always does, they would take a break until the coast was clear, then they would come back on and play an amazing 3 hour set.

Agreed. If your getting shat on twice every fuckin song what state would they be after 90 mins?

Its a really funny story that will probably haunt them for the rest of their careers but no one on here would put up with that shit ( ;) ) and I dont know why anyone think that they should.

I get shit on enough at work as it is

'"No fans were pooped on as far as we know", said the band's publicist.'

Something about this quote from the article is more ridiculous then i can wrap my head around.

    cheers!

    Seconded.
    Kudos to opening bands.
And OP, thanks for the story (smart how you connected it to PJ, too), I thought nothing will cheer me up. Then I read: "Jared (Followill) was hit several times during the first two songs,", ...They really tried to hang in there" and I started cracking.
Edited to add: 'No fans were pooped on.'

Couldn't management or the one's running that venue cover the band member's on stage? So they wouldn't get hammered with heavy pigeon fire from up above? It was an outdoor event right? Couldn't they bring out a ladder, a hammer, some tape or nails and some cardboard boxes or something safe to cover the band member's onstage when they play so they won't get shit on? Cheap & unsafe place to hold an outdoor event. :|

Nathan Followill's Twitter to fans: Don't take it out on Jared, it's the ****ing venue’s fault. You may enjoy being sh*t on but we don't.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Someone should have run over to Home Depot and got some kind of tent cover or tarps, set them up and continued. I don't thing fans would have minded the wait if they got a full show in. But to just walk off is ridiculous. No one could climb up there and scare the birds off?

Anyone ever hear of a BB gun?
