ok it's friday afternoon

it's friday afternoon
the boss is gone
although i stopped working hard hours ago i have stopped altogether now
i have been thinking about the forum folks i have been getting to e-know the past few months
from the sublimely sweet to the nasties (and we all know where we fit in that spectrum)
i was wondering how honest we all are
i am not concerned with poetry, that has no bounds
but the way we present ourselves, our comments to others, the general vibe we give off
we are able to discuss EVERYTHING freely
it occurred to me
what if some posters completely made up virtual personas, good or bad, and were just fucking with anyone and everyone who would believe them
i guess there's no way to know for sure
i would feel slightly violated

    its true...its really easy to pretend to be someone you are not online to a bunch of people who do not and may not ever actually know the real you.

    but, there are so many people in real life, who i know physically, that do just the same thing...put on a fake front : smiling face stupid sweet ass voice...its all a lie....so i guess it doesnt matter where you are...in the real world or the e-world....theres always gonna be frauds

    i on the other hand am the complete opposite....i say what I feel, when I feel it.....and it has proven to be a bitch (or proven me to be a bitch :lol: )

    but what would you rather have? someone who tells you the truth, or someone who lies right to your face???

    i prefer the truth...no matter how harsh

    I'm pretty much what you see is what you get. This is only place I am on the internet because I love Pearl Jam and the people who love them.
    I wouldn't feel violated by someones virtual persona not being straight on though and perhaps that is the case, that some are not who they appear. But that makes no difference to me. Its really the same in "real life", people aren't usually who you think they are.
    I believe in you all and this I need, to believe. So its a two way street.

    right....i know a couple of people who have multiple "personas" not personalities, but personas
    one for work people
    one for the telephone
    one for meeting new people
    one for going out
    one for straight laced friends
    one for party friends
    one for real friends
    one for family
    and who knows what else

    wtf...sometimes its hard to know which one is real? but I think I do know...really

    anyway, norm, chadwick, you guys are plain silly
