Super Heroes vs. the Westboro Baptist Church
They've faced down humans time and time again, but Fred Phelps and his minions from the Westboro Baptist Church were not ready for the cosplay action that awaited them today at Comic-Con. After all, who can win against a counter protest that includes robots, magical anime girls, Trekkies, Jedi and...kittens?
Unbeknownst to the dastardly fanatics of the Westboro Baptist Church, the good folks of San Diego's Comic-Con were prepared for their arrival with their own special brand of superhuman counter protesting chanting "WHAT DO WE WANT" "GAY SEX" "WHEN DO WE WANT IT" "NOW!" while brandishing ironic (and some sincere) signs. Simply stated: The eclectic assembly of nerdom's finest stood and delivered.
As you can see below, the fantastic fanboys delivered the the church a humorous dose of sweet fan justice. ComicsAlliance was there to witness the spectacle in full, which you can indulge in yourself after the jump.

So, what exactly were these nutjobs protesting a comic convention for anyway?
was like a picture

gay tellitubbies...they just happen to be at the wrong place. They decided it was time to make sure they told people hurricane Katrina and soldiers dying were caused by grimace and the hamburgler's unholy and unnatural relationship with Mayor McCheese.
I love those guys, a few years ago I emailed them and politely(seriously) asked them to stop wht they were doing through their website. I got back a response that said leave us alone and that my email addess was saved so they could come after me for harrassment if I did not cease and desist all communication with them. It was awesome.
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb

I don't advocate violence... But would anyone be really upset if a sniper hit Fred Phelps right between the eyes?
1 person...Fred Phelps, and I think even he would recognize that it was probably justified

Awesome!
humor is a great tool.
westoboro looks bad.
the thing that bugs me the most about westboro is that they raise their kids like that... its like those weird polygamist sects that tell the young girls their only gateway into heaven is to marry some 40 year old man. There's no hope for them when they no nothing else!! I remember one clip of a westboro protest and they asked the kid what does your sign mean? and he had no clue.
