2010 Tour Poster Question.

A while back, I remember it was common knowledge to know how many posters were printed
for each show. Now it seems like that's not the case any longer.

Does anyone know which reason is true :

1) Because they have been printing a lot more posters
and disclosing the amount they print takes away from them being as collectible.

2) I don't know where to find the information on how many were printed.

If you feel the answer is # 2, can you substantiate it ?

Thanks !

I think your #1 statement is true... As for #2 I have no idea, but it seems they've let the presses run to satisfy demand and collectibility (re-sale value) be damned...

I think one thing is for certain, judging New Orleans is already sold out, there are far fewer 2010 posters printed than 2009s.

    Get em while they're hot!

Agree with both points. If you want one, get it the afternoon it drops. The BK Jazz Fest poster IMO was one of the best of the tour and I too was surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Yeah that was a good test being one of the better prints from the tour. That poster was available for at least 6 hours. I think it was a larger poster run again. I do agree with Fenway...buy em while there hot and they drop and that will prevent you from missing out. I'm guessing the MSG Donkey Kong poster will be gone in a matter of minutes!!

I agree, i also think that Americans are bigger collectors of the posters than Europeans. We just cant be fucked holding the tubes for 2 and a half hours! :)

Or USA posters are cooler than European. If I look at 2010 tour, I can't find any Europe date poster as beautiful as MSG2, Hartford, or even New Orleans. Lisbon is nice, Bilbao is nice but some of the USA leg are just great pieces of art. I guess it comes down to personal preferences anyway.

MSG2 "beautiful"? Corney as hell IMO. Anything with MSG tied to it is "amazing". Crazyness...

Maybe not beautiful... but is really fun and that's enough for some people, i love it because of that.

I can see your point there.

Okay, okay. Europe had some awesome prints and some shitty ones. USA got some awesome prints and some shitty ones. I don't think it has anything to do with who likes posters and buys posters more. I am positive that Poland and Dublin will sell out super-quick when they go up in the coming weeks. The 2009 vs 2010 debate it appears is simply a product of how many were printed. Look at last years SLC, Toronto or a couple of the LA prints. Those were awesome posters and were available in the goods section forever.

Always the voice of reason. Thanks, FF. We all like the crap we like and think it's better than what other people like. Whose going to give me a hard time when I spill the beans that Columbus is my favourite poster from the US leg of the tour? Everyone. Do I care? Nope. Am I getting a huge back-tattoo of a prospector-riding-a-T-rex? YOU BET.Columbus_300W.1.jpg

mah...I can only find Nijmegen uglier than London. And Berlin really says nothing to me.

MSG2 is not probably fantastic but I like the idea. And I also like MSG1 to be honest. And Kansas City.
I don't really care if it says MSG or not, I'm not a New Yorker. In fact I'm not even American.
