This is one fantastic DVD, even better than the whole show! Watching Robbie Robertson pick up the lead when Clapton's guitar strap comes off shows how talented these people are, well worth viewing.

My brother's a huge Band fan. As for me, I'm not too fond of the Band's music, but I respect their skill. I bet that The Last Waltz would be relatively enjoyable, even for a non-Band fan, though.

Yes the original release contained practically the whole thing from start to finish, can't remember as it's quite a while since I saw the original but I think it was around 2 hours so it is easy to miss as there's so much to take in. The directors cut is fantastic, Martin Scorsese interviews the guys and there is The Weight which was recorded separately to the show.

You are so right. The Band was quite possibly the greatest collection of talent in one band EVER

  • One of my favourites. Does the Directors cut have Neil Young with a nice little chunk of coke in his nose?
