“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
I'd say they are viewed probably a step down from Incubus but a few steps up from Nickelback. That's how I view them at least. Which is to say tolerable, but not worthy of a monetary exchange to hear their music. But I have a friend and fellow PJammer that rates them as one of his favorite "new" rock bands. But he was a thespian in high school, so his tastes are a bit skewed. He also listens to a "70's Gold" collection of pop hits from the 70's.
I'd say they are viewed probably a step down from Incubus but a few steps up from Nickelback.
I'd put them right there with Nickelback - and no where close to Incubus

Perhaps, but far superior lyrically to Nickelback (I think :?: ). Maybe not so much the case with Incubus.
Actually, i've never lumped them in with the 'cookie cutter' types you speak of, but, then again, I only know a handful of their songs.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They are a decent band. Not in the same breath as Incubus, but not as bad as Nickelback.
Love the song "Away from the Sun". Never seen them live. Most of the people on the boards
won't give any other band a chance on here. They will only list to PJ. I have mentioned numerous
bands, such as idlewild, incubus, brandon boyd solo's album, and Coheed and Cambria. They
just refuse to give them a chance.

Who cares waht other people on the board think about your musical taste? I've never heard Idlewild, but the others you mention are better than most of the mainstream rock played on FM stations for sure. Most people that visit the Other Music forum tend to be a little more open minded about music than the Porch sitters though. This is the Other Music section, which generally means people are discussing bands other than Pearl Jam here.
