This is England

Met up with a few friends in London yesterday, had a few beverages and a skunk or two. When we parted I was walking to the station with the headphones on and The Clash were playing This is England, what a powerful track it is, have always loved it as I feel it conveys the feelings of the time. Talk about surreal, was walking through places that were predominantly Muslim, old men standing around talking, foreign woman buying produce from markets and I've got This is England blasting in my ears. Wonder what they would say if they found out that The Clash fought against racism so they could live in this country?

Its great to be able to go out in london and pick 10 places to eat all serving food from their home country.
You learn to respect other as well by talking to them and hearing about home life.
But i think this is a world wide thing for the big citys not just london.

That is all you will get for your tour down under.
Yes, straws.
I also think the variety of culture is fantastic but I was thinking more in relation as to how The Clash were instrumental in combating racism. Being from Africa I belong to a number of forums where Africans congregate and on one of the UK based ones I posted a picture of The Clash and billed it a social experiment, it was a black and white photo with the band members just standing there in their everyday gear.
The comments aimed at the photo were all negative and nobody picked up on who they were so when I explained to the forum who they were and how they stood against racism and police brutality the people were amazed.
