Didn't the band mention last Winter that they were planning an EP or compilation of tracks that didn't make Backspacer and Avocado?

What happened to that?

you are not crazy. Mike mentioned it in an interview that they might release an EP of songs that didn't fit on Backspacer. But it doesn't look like (so far) that that is happening. But who knows, Kat said in another thread that there was lots being planned in the PJ camp, so that could be one thing, but I doubt it.The band JUST finished a tour, and now are heading right into other projects, so unless all the extra tracks were already recorded during the BS sessions, it's not likely they'll have the time to slap together an EP now.

Don't forget, though, they did play Of the Earth on the Euro tour - which is an Avocado outtake (even if Ed said "it's barely a song yet" in Dublin). Plus, I'm sure there was some mention of them clocking some studio time earlier in the year.
