Very disappointing for me music wise. I was excited about Band of Horses and Spoon and even they were good, not great, IMO. Please tell some killer music is coming out this summer!

i think the spoon albums is great. band of horses are always pretty average, so that's not a surprise. i think it's been a pretty good year. better than last year.

spoon, janelle monae, the national, erykah badu, the roots, and broken social scene all put out some pretty great albums to name a few. arcade fire and radiohead are still to come.

this year hasn't been the best year but not the worst either...

check out avi buffalo for a great upcoming new band.. released their first album this year.

loved the hold steady, the national, the black keys, the dead weather plus gaslight anthem was alright.

band of horses was ok without being anything special but had some good moments. Looking forward to the arcade fire, robert plant and grinderman's new albums this year.

'What's in it for?' is one of the best songs I've heard this year.

I'm hoping for a return to form from Interpol. Our Love To Admire was disappointing, I'd love to see them produce songs in the style of Turn On The Bright Lights again.

Okay, I've heard enough of the Dead Weather to go ahead and get their new album on iTunes. It's downloading now. I guess since we might never get any new White Stripes so this is the next best thing. I hadn't really given the Dead Weather a lot of stock since Jack's not playing guitar, right? But I like what I've heard so far.

I'm very much looking forward to the new Ray LaMontagne (vinyl releases 8/17), new Arcade Fire (releases 8/3), and new Ryan Bingham (produced by T Bone Burnett and releases on 8/31).

I liked the Dead Weather album as well, actually better than Horebound last year.

My favorite so far this year was the Black Keys, and also loved The Roots, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Jimi Hendrix, and Jack Johnson, and the Hold Steady album was alright. I did not enjoy STP, or The National. STP sounds like poor man's Aerosmith now and the National's album was a whole lot of waiting for the song to break and it never coming.

I am excited for the new Michael Franti album, another Roots album in September, the rumored Blakroc, and whatever else comes along.

No, but I plan it being my next purchase. I was struggling with whether to get on vinyl, cd, or dvd. Maybe I should just get all three. But I'll probably start with the cd, I've seen a bunch of the film on Youtube already.

I'd bet there is label pressure since this newest album hasn't done so well.
