Well, I hate to do it, but I have to sell my albums. I have a Riot Act (sealed), Ten (sealed, NOT re-issue), Backspacer (sealed), No Code, Vs.

Plus many of the Xmas singles.

Me and my lady adopted a kitten, her name is Gypsy, and now she is sick (4 months old). She needs to see a cardiologist, believe it or not. Its gonna cost some large dough (for me atleast) and I see no other way than to rid myself of these. I hate using eBay, and I want these albums to find a home where they will be appriciated.

Send me offers via PM and I'll let you know what I can do.

Thanks!

Nothing to do with LPs but... did you adopt your kitten from an animal shelter?

Cardiologist for a cat? Just get another cat. It's cheaper and you keep the vinyl ;)

no, we actually adopted from a vet... she was the runt of the litter and the Dr said she'd be fine after she had some issues at birth-2 weeks. She had a slight heart murmur that should have gone away, but it got worse and they fear, as do I, that she has a hole in her heart.

We named her Gypsy becasue, of all things, the Cher song "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" becasue me and a friend of mine would play that song OVER and OVER again on the jukebox in every bar we would go to....

And I'm not sure it's as easy as that My3rdEye. We aren't having children as of now and this is as close as we are going to get to a child. Pets are like family :D !!!!

Pets are absolutely family. We had a dog with epilepsy and dropped a fortune on her. I'd do it again in a heart beat :) Best of luck with the sale. Don't think you'll have any trouble at all unloading the Riot Act and the No Code. This guy is searching for a No Code LP. Perhaps you could work something out with him. Win win. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=136815

I hate to sound cruel, but really. You would spend thousands of dollars to try and repair your cat when it might need future care, medicine and that sort of thing. Like someone else mentioned, just get another cat. Save you alot of cash. Now if you have enough cash laying around to throw at a vet..go ahead. But I can't see doing this, and you say the kitten is only 4 months old, you've barley even had it that long.

Now before all bash me. I have a 12 yr old golden retriever. Who the vets want me to have surgery..cost around $1800 and there is no guarantee they will fix everything and the possibilty he could die on the surgery table. I'm opting not to have the surgery. With that $1800 I could buy 2 pure bread golden retrievers puppies. I love my dog, but there comes a time in life when they will have to move on.

    "Just get another cat."

I seriously get annoyed with responses like these to responsible, caring, pet lovers who treat their pets like family. Maybe your kid will have the same problem and someone will say, "Just have another kid!"

Not to me, but to some... their pets ARE their kids. I'm sure this person wasn't looking for a handout. They simply wanted to advertise their PJ merch to assist with medical care for their pet.

Pretty ignorant and insensitive statement by the genius who said "JUST GET ANOTHER CAT!!!"
To the original poster... good luck with your animal and it's care I wish you and him/her the best.

First of all, thank you all for your kind words! I just wanted to give you an update on things. I went to the place where we adopted Gypsy from and spoke with the vet. I was able to convince her that these problems/issues should have been addressed at the time we adopted Gypsy and that I was very upset with the whole situation. Being as I work in town, some of you know my proffession, I was able to work out an amicable deal with the vet and get the costs down to a manageable level, almost nothing except med's after any procedure.

Needless to say I am relieved as all get up! I really did not want to HAVE to sell off my collection and I am glad to say, I wont be selling the LP's. I am sorry that some people wont be able to add to their collection, and I hope you all realize I did this for a good cause.

Once again, thank you for the kind words and advice. I will try to get back to everyone individually to tell the news that I wont be selling.

    Thanks!

I seriously get annoyed with responses like these to responsible, caring, pet lovers who treat their pets like family. Maybe your kid will have the same problem and someone will say, "Just have another kid!"

I completely agree with you that it is an insensitive thing to say (I don't think they see it like that, some people just aren't animal people and they see a cat as a cat). However, I'm a huge animal lover and a parent. I thought there was no way I could love anything more than my lab mix (a mutt, lol) even when I was pregnant. During about my 7th month of pregnancy he got out of the fence (we kept him inside mostly, but we let him run in our large fenced in backyard daily for fun) and got hit by a truck. I freaked out to the point that everyone was trying to calm me down because they thought I would go into labor. We currently have a mom cat and kittens and a puppy. However, as much as I love my pets, there is no comparison between them and my son. I think the person who stated that didn't actually mean it quite like that and I know you didn't mean to wish ill on someones child, but that just kind of how that came out. Anyway, I just had to say something, because as soon as I read that post, I knew that guy would get a ton of shit and I don't think he meant to be that insensitive, just like you didn't mean the thing about the kid. Anyway, please don't take this the wrong way, I see you on here from time to time and you're one of the fun people so I thought I could talk to you objectively without having you freak like some people do. :) I'm just trying to be a peace maker. Good luck with the cat, hope all goes well. Also, I don't have any PJ vinyl. I would be mainly interested in the full albums, let me know the price if you don't mind. Thank you.

Edit: NM, the lps, I read you're last post after I posted mine. Happy to hear the vet stepped up and helped, I'm also happy that you get to keep you collection.

Dually noted and you are correct that it just came out. I have a cat that is 11 and a son that is 9 weeks old and I would have to keep the kid over the cat. To put the kid/pet thing into perspective...

My friend from high school had a fire at his house yesterday and the house burned down. Here is the link to the story. http://fltimes.com/articles/2010/07/14/ ... 244519.txt

It's pretty sad... he lost his dog in the fire. I know he is thinking, after his children and wife were safe of course... "fuck the house, i cannot believe my dog is dead". pretty sad to say the least. i'm sure i will come up with something to donate to him and his family... we're dead broke pretty much so it won;t be much. diapers probably...

anyway, all i meant is that pets are family too... they don;t call it FURniture for nothin'. 8-)
