...TV's used to be giant boxes.

Just went to Best Buy and they didn't have a single box-style television available for sale. Also ran an errand at Target only to find the same scenario, only flat-screened TV's.

That's pretty much what we had, and we started out with a black and white one.

We tend not to buy new things till the old things stop working, so we'll probably be stuck with the big Sony non-flat screen that we have, for a while.

Yeah I have a non-flat screen one too, works just fine. I figure when it finally dies or if I can get a flat screen for $20 then I'll splurge for a new one. I rarely watch TV so it just seems like an unnecessary expense right now.

When I was little it was before color TV and my Dad the inventor he was liked new stuff. He bought a piece of plastic that went on the screen it was blue, yellow, green. The theory, if you were watching a scenery picture it was kind of cool but if it was a persons face, it was blue forehead, yellow face, green neck :wtf: we were really glad when he broke down and bought the real thing :)

I think I remember those. They were suppose to turn your black and white set into a colour one at a fraction of the price!:lol:

i miss green cord phones hanging on kitchen walls with 4 feet of tangled cord length... i miss that a lot.
i miss black rotary dial phones with tangled cords and the phone's number printed under the plastic rotary dial.

i miss tv rabbit ear antennas, homemade aluminum ones or factory made, either one works.

i miss shifting from park = P, to any gear without depressing the brake pedal.
all gas, all gears, no brakes.
    i like that best.
