Does anyone every wonder

Why we all bother leaving work at the end of the day just to sleep and then turn around and come right back? I mean it's always seemed like a waste to me. I can watch a few hours of TV at work. I could leave work to go to trivia night or whatever I do during the week and then come back so I'm here in the morning. Why don't offices have bunk beds? Why don't we just stay here during the week and go home on weekends? Maybe that's why college made so much sense to me, living on campus is basically like living at work...hmm, it's not that I particularly LIKE being here, but I'm going to be here anyway so why add the hassle and disruption of traveling back and forth? One of life's mysteries.

Because if I had to endure these drab walls and fake smiles anymore than I have to, I'd go insane.

No! Please No! I don't get much time outside of work during the week. Most days I leave my house at 7am and don't get back until after 10pm....but I make the most of it. I love love love my house...my bed. I want to share that bed with my husband (and my cats) :D During the summer I love sitting out on the balcony for a while before bed. Nights I get done earlier I go to the pool. I don't want a bunk bed here  Although my supervisor has a recurring nightmare that we all get stuck at the office because of a snow storm and have to sleep on the conference room table together :?

    excellent point :).

I've just gotten to the point that going home depresses me because I know I'll just be back in a few hours. I'm really having trouble going to sleep because I don't want it to be get up get dressed head back to work time again.

    HELL NO!

The best part of my day is when I pull out of the office parking lot.

I had a job in an ice rink just out of college... I worked long hours and there was a sports bar in the complex. I spent quite a few nights sleeping on the sofa in my office, but that was when I was single and drunk :)

    was like a picture

I see what you are saying, but how about we flip it on its head and wonder about why we bother leaving our houses and interact with people who in most cases we would never think to talk to and do things that don't directly provide us with much joy or engage us in any way meaningful. We should all just get up in the morning (or afternoon) and just hang on the porch sipping lemonade listening to some music.

well that makes total sense of course, but unfortunately it just seems more likely that the culture would drive us to stay at the office at night before people would quit working.
