Public Image Limited

About two weeks ago I downloaded the soundtrack album to the movie 'Basquiat', which has the self-titled P.I.L song on it, and it got me listening to P.I.L again after many years. Then about two or three days later I notice that Pearl Jam played the song in Berlin. Too weird.
Here's the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylOCIP54PIQ
Does anyone else like this band?
Here's another good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPj-8_wOZcA

I agree. They made some pretty shite stuff later on, but they also made some great songs. I know John Lydon was always a fan of dub reggae as was Jah Wobble, so those things clearly influenced a lot of their music.
Johnny was always at his best when he was at his sneeringly angriest though, in my opinion.
Kinda went off the live draw after that but thankfully, as I was in New York for PJ in May, I spotted they were playing in Brooklyn so 'when in Rome'.. Am I glad I went, they were great and played a blinder, dub heavy in parts too! I'm still wondering if Eddie was at that gig 'cos clues like the PIL t-shirt he's recently been wearing plus the Public Image cover kind of lean towards it.....?

Had the pleasure of seeing the best triple concert I have ever seen with them in NJ
The Sugarcubes/PIL/New Order
Not listened to or even heard of King Tubby before and I'm ashamed to say I quite enjoyed it. I normally detest reggae - everyone I know knows this ha ha - but must admit to a soft spot for dub, think it's the bass. Or the drugs.... You really can hear the influence on PIL tho. I will explore this more. Thanks again in aiding my resolve to listen to music with open ears. Except reggae, that is. Nope
The Monsters of Alternative Rock tour (89 ?). I was there. Won tickets from Donna Donna on 92.7 WDRE
Actually, I thought PIL owned this show... wasn't into the Sugarcubes at all and didn't care for Sumner's voice live.
See if you like this one. Listen to the lyrics...it's a great song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_H7TEG4uu0

'"Born for a Purpose"...[The] song was originally released on his Vital Food label, and told of his Rastafarian faith supporting him after bus driver had driven into him in Kingston on December 26 1976, causing serious injuries.'

Roots Bloody Roots - SEPULTURA
I remember that tour......I wonder if Rotten was able to tolerate Bjork and her pixie-like ways?
