blood falls from my hand
to the grass
now barren land
its time

living cursed
to restlessly wander the earth
the mark will be worn
for all to see
none shall seek revenge
for fear of vengeance seven times more

my brothers keeper?
I am not

the soil screams out
the blood of the favored one
will forever follow me
into the Land of Nod

I seek death but am denied
the soul of man
to be destroyed by my hand
harbinger of death
feel my fear
taste the flame
I’ll wear this mark
as my crusade begins
to end mankind.
Peace, Love.

prophet... A person gifted with profound moral insight and exceptional powers of expression.
    A predictor; a soothsayer.
    although grim....forbidding
as always beautifully written to move emotion

A woman woke to barren land
Fear gripped her soul as she walked
    through the lonely town
Friends were nowhere to be found
She did not agree with the spiritual ways of her youth
Was this the fate for a non conformist?
The woman whispered a short prayer
    hoping to understand the meaning
    Everything was calm and serene
She was enveloped in some sort of grace
    Something she didn't think possible
It was true to her now,'
a spirital connection is all that is needed

    hope this helps....

    thanks to everybody.

I fell asleep last night and had a dream maybe,.. ? I don't know.

I woke up at 2:30 in the morning and had one line repeating in my head over and over..
I couldn't fall back asleep. I just had the one line, and knew that it was from the perspective of Cain after killing Abel.

I'm not even sure I believe in the story of Cain and Abel, but the perspective was strong, so I did the best I could with the little knowledge I had on the subject.

I don't usually explain the things I write here, but felt the need to share how this came to be.

    Thanks for reading.

Thank you for sending the story behind the poem. I love knowing what inspires a poem. Thank you.

Thank you mikalina. Don't get used to it,... I usually won't talk about the meanings. unless it's quiet, one on one, and over a beer. ;)
