It was really GREAT to get to hear a few minutes of the show on the internet radio!!
Evenflow thru Given to Fly were featured on the Studio Brussel radio feed.
We got to hear OF THE EARTH playing live!!
This made for a good time for those of us unable to attend the show & everyone following the setlist thread seemed to really enjoy the live feed...
Let's hope there will be another one for Italy on Tuesday.

just came back home..great day with Black Keys, Alice in Chains, Them Crooked Vultures and of course Pearl Jam. I was standing on Stone´s side. The crowd there was not too excited I think, was getting better at the end. It was definitely not Stone´s fault, cause he was totally rocking! Seemed to have tons of fun. Was great to hear Of The Earth and Kick Out The Jams w/Alain Johnannes & Dave Grohl. And I think I could listen to Why Go over and over again... :D According to the Werchter homepage PJ should have played from 11 to 1, however, after Kick Out the Jam the band left the stage and the fireworks ending the festival started. I had the feeling that the guys wanted to come back, but an official guy told us that unfortunately another encore is not possible. Anyway, it was a great show - as always! Now into the bed, have to work in a couple of hours, good night!

Well folks that is how you rock the shit out of a short festival set!!!

The guys came out and played for themselves tonight I think rather than focussing on what the crowd might want and it was fan-friggin-tastic!!

They hit it hard with the PIL start then proceeded to slot in pretty much every 'jam' song they could think of - Even Flow, Porch, Of the Earth, RVM. They looked like they were having a whale of a time and the crowd were into it as a result.

The stage was very high tonight and even though I had a spot on the barrier it was difficult to see all the band members - I was particularly grateful for the 'Matt Cam' which was up on the screens for much of the night - god damn that man can PLAY and it was great to get some visuals which showed just how hard he works - you are a champion Matt :)

Comatose into Why Go in the second encore was hardcore and just how we like it!

Kick out the Jams was helped out by two very welcome crooked vultures one of which was a particulary gnarly Dave Grohl rocking the shit out of a tambourine after(according to Ed) having manned the bbq out the back. It was an interesting end to the set (which also included some fireworks).

I saw the setlist and Wasted Reprise, Betterman and Black were listed In the second encore and crossed off (which was more than fine in my book!).

Overall a tough, rockin, kick ass festival set!

    Bring on Oeiras! :)

Definitely a good setlist for a festival yesterday. Band was on fire and much more energetic compared to Arras the day earlier. The PIL cover as an opener came as a very pleasant surprise. Great to hear severed hand for the first time this tour. Kick out the jams was epic and was played with even more fire and energy than in Berlin. Comatose is also always a nice welcome on any setlist.

WOW!! They were on fire and giving the festival a truely ROCKING end!!! Was on Mike's side in the front section: bit crowded, but they were into it, so i thought it was FANTASTIC and I enjoyed every single minute of it!!!!

Only my fourth time of seeing them live and after Nijmegen this was my last part of this European tour, but really hope they'll come back soon!!!!! But please..........no more festivals..........only full gigs!!

Great gig. A great selection of songs!

But one thing bothered me: the show was over so quickly. Normally they should've played half an hour longer. Eddie also didn't say his goodbye the way he usually does. Very strange ending...

Hopefully we see them again soon!

strange ending, I agree. We all thought they would make a third encore (1 or 2 songs).
But I think they were pretty busy backstage, drinking beers and having a barbecue with them crooked vultures, alice in chains, gomez, etc... :D

I sure would have liked to join the barbecue ;) Maybe Eddie could have played a campfire song or two :)

    Awesome.
  • Some shorter video of Kick Out the Jams - not the best but you get the picture about Dave rocking the shit out of the tambo:

  • Pics from Arras & Werchter - not the best but I had to make do with a couple of difficult photo taking spots on the barrier:

after 4 days of gettin' burned up by the sun & tryin' beer as a sunblocker I was quite pleased to still be standing on the fields of werchter for this amazing gig! the opening acts weren't to shabby either! :D

Great show again. PIL as an opener was risky but I liked it. Rearviewmirror was my highlight of the show.
And Kick Out The Jams with Alain Johannes and Dave Grohl was fantastic.

First time for me going to Werchter. Huge festival. I'll probably go for the 4 days next time since they always have a good line-up.

    Hi,
great (as always) but not so top as I read here...
Closing with the Crooked Vultures was great and really really rockin'!
Indeed PJ plays not a Festival orientated set (fine by me) but the least they could do was to fulfill their time on stage...
Saw PJ this year in Nijmegen and Werchter, both the gigs I had the feeling that something just was missin'...
There was no drive to push the numbers to their highest level and there was really no acting as band!
If there is a problem, you gotta fix it... (Leaving stage first time in Werchter after about 50 minutes, ending 30 min 2 early... that's so un-PJ...)
    The biggest fan,
    Nothingman.

    Hi all,

It was my first PJ show, and I'd love to get a recording of it.

Do you know if official bootlegs are released for all shows or only selected ones ?

I couldn't find info on that or FAQ or whatever. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, feel free to redirect me if that's the case :-)

    Cheers !

what's the first song that's been crossed, that should've been after Why Go (and before Better Man and Black)?

Decent show, but come on, to follow on after the brilliant set Arcade Fire put on... PJ just seemed like a distraction.

    Lessons learned:
    - I can run like the wind if I wanna.
    - I'm perfectly capable of standing at the barrier and not peeing for 14 hours
    - The guy who decided to put on Vampire Weekend in between AIC and TCV needs to be roughed up
    - I'm gonna need extra money so I can follow Arcade Fire around
    - Europe is actually capable of hitting 37 degrees
115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!
