Here's a thought...

I know that Even Flow has been exhausted a lot. A number of us here on the message board have expressed their feeling of hoping the band put this song to rest. Now, while this is a thought (a thought to which I don't really agree, but that's besides the point...) has anybody thought of this:

The band should re-record this song to the new tempo that is has been using over the last number of years. I think a sped up studio version would be pretty sweet. Thoughts?

  • I don't like how they play it so fast now. I'd rather them play it how they used to, it sounds much better.
    Stone Gossard...riffmeister extraordinaire!

I am a man, I am advanced.....I am the first man to borrow Stone's leather pants!

they need to redo that song from scratch for alot of the fans to really enjoy it live. like what they did with jeremy in 1995. something along those lines.

Some things are better off untouched.

i totally agree. they speed it up so much now and it sounds like theyre rushing it. they gotta slow it back down and keep it funky like it used to be.

Half of their set is sped up now.
I think its partly "Ramones Syndrome" and mostly "look, if we get through these standards 30 seconds faster a piece, we can give the fans 2 rare songs on top if it before we hit curfew" ...

Honestly. I think that is the point.
That and they don't want to fall asleep playing some of those songs at the stoned out (heroin, anyone?) original tempos ... rather, rock em the fuck out.

While i agree, the original slower grooves were more enjoyable, i'd rather see them "rush" through them and then play Down, Undone, Sad, etc ... :D
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
