Phuket is the popular beach destination I would say. I've had friends that really enjoyed that part of the country.

The advice that's mostly given around here when people say they're visiting Thailand is..."look for the Adams apple" ;)

So, PJ cafe, I suppose you want natty little food titles which relate to PJ songs?
How about a 'Bushburger, served on a Satan's bed of lettuce'? :D
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

There are beautiful places, but alot are overrun by tourists.

I really enjoyed Koh Tao, (about 1 hours boat ride from Samui) and also Railey Beach, outside of Krabi (but that is getting a bit touristy now)

i would love to get back and explore more over there!

Nice thread, my g/f's Mum lives in Rayong and her Thai b/f has a bar there, I've given him some PJ to play which he does. I love Koh Phi Phi but it's full of torrists. Koh Lanta and Koh chang are a quieter and have some of Thailands best Islands, Koh Tao too. Good luck with the PJ bar, I'll try and get there next time as never been to Samui.

That is a great idea. I dont know how many times I have been thinking about doing something similar. Just open a cool little place and make enough money to get by. If you ever need a partner, send me a pm. I have enought pearl jam posters to fill your entire cafe:-)
