Anyone else catch Jay-Z and Eminem on Letterman last week?

Performing on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater?

They are fucking badass at what they do - both of them. Just pure talent.

I know this isn't the normal genre of music discussed here - but I feel it deserves the respect for being as about as good as it gets for rap.

Eminem and Jay-Z both did a solo song, then they came out together and did Renegade. Fucking badass!!

They're about the only rap artists alive that I listen to. Everything else is awful.

Probably the biggest crowd of white people they've ever played in front of.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

Awkward crowd too. Aside from that, a stellar performance.

Meh, not a big rap fan. Gave it a shot. Anyone else find this kinda dull and boring? Rap live blows. Long live live rock bands and fucking front and center instruments. Backing tracks are sleeping pills to me.

I must say though, jay z alone puts on quite the show. Check put his snl performance from the Betty white episode. I hate rap but could not bring myself to fast forwarding through his performance.

I agree only back tracks are boring - but they had a full rock band behind them. It was badass.

I didnt see the Letterman thing, but I did see JayZ at Bonnaroo. I wasnt expecting anything and I was totally blown away. Great backing band and singers. Unreal set; easily the craziest stage set I have ever seen. It was a pretty amazing show and I dont own any jayz records nor have I ever listened to an entire one.

Got it from Amazon today (cheaper than itunes) and played it while driving to Burlington. Very good. I liked just about every track.
