Hi I just joined the 10 Club - I have been looking on this forum for a while though. I have yet to see Pearl Jam live yet, but from youtube footage and bootlegs I can tell that they are very consistent and are a great band to see. A lot of bands can be very inconsistent (such as Guns N' Roses - where Axl's voice can vary from show to show), but I have never heard a bad Pearl Jam concert. Eddie, Stone, Jeff, Mike, and whatever drummer they have at the time always seem to be at the top of their game!

The two times I've seen them were awesome. I'm still trying to get my hearing back after the Hartford show.
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

But I've always wanted to see a show with Jack White in it, either White Stripes, Raconteurs, or Dead Weather. I'd like to see The White Stripes because I've heard they're great when they perform. No set list, whatever they want to play.

I saw the Dead Weather last year in LA. They were amazing! I am seeing them again next month. Even though Jack White plays drums mostly in the Dead Weather, Alison is a fantastic lead singer, and the rest of the band always plays really tight

I consistently have so much fun at their shows and it always seems to cheer me up more than anybody else.

Actually Matt Cameron has been the band's drummer for 12 years.
  • I don't get to as many gigs as I'd like to, but the last three have been Pearl Jam, White Stripes and Radiohead. This is going to sound bizzare but the two best gigs (Pearl Jam and White Stripes) affected me in very different ways.

I saw The White Stripes at Blackpool at The Empress Ballroom (the same venue that they recorded Under Blackpool Lights). It's a very small venue, so the atmosphere was incredible. To be stood 15 feet away from Jack White going mental on the guitar takes some beating. I went away a very happy chappy for a few days and that was that.

Pearl Jam was at the MEN in Manchester and the strange thing about it was that, although immensely enjoyable as it was being at the gig, it was only the following day that it had a major impact on me. As soon as a heard a song that they'd played, it took on a whole new meaning and I wanted to be back at the gig re-living it again.

Looking back, I don't think I was ready for the gig - how does a band connect with 20,000 people on an intensely personal level? This is what Pearl Jam do, though. It's stunning to be part of and leaves you a changed person. It's not just about "we're the band and you're the audience", it's a very collective, friendly feeling - both feeding of the emotions of the other. I've never had before.

    It's pretty special. :D
It's gonna be a glorious day...
  • Thats a great description! Not to mention I am jealous of you haha

I have seen the Dead Weather, and am going to see them for the second time on July 21st. But I have yet to see Pearl Jam :(
