The victim of this crime will suffer a lifetime sentence with his injuries while the offenders are being let off with just a few hours of community service," he said<-- not only is left blind in one eye, he'll never feel safe again, think about the mental torture he's been through. There's no such thing as Justice.Do judges ever put themselves in the victm's shoes anymore? this is the type of shit that makes me not want to believe in god. We got the same shit in america, rapists get 3 to 5 years? wtf. This is why i will always regard bernie getts as a hero.

your first mistake is thinking the legal system is about justice. i know it should be but it isnt. and when it is it surprises us.

The system is about whose lawyer can create the most flambouyant and convincing argument (not necessarily truthful, most often not), and those lawyers choosing the jury members they believe will be most likely to side with them based on stereotypes.

Although, I am glad that Patel convicted on all counts yesterday. But as it stands, he is able to appeal his sentence and again tie up more of our taxpayers $$$.
