Possible Canadian Fall Tour

Anyone hear of this? I was talking to a guy who works at the MTS Centre this weekend at a bar, and he said that there may be another booking for Pearl Jam in September or so. He said he heard it might be a tour a la 2005. Personally, I think he's full of it, but I was just wondering if anyone else had heard this, or know of anything that would disprove it?

possible Soundgarden tour would disprove it, but as of right now, all we have is a Lolla date.

Right, I knew there was something funny about what this clown told me. Figured I'd check with the Pit though.

    It has been awhile, though...
A cross-Canada tour would be brilliant,
especially in September- October as it was before.

    Bring back the Jets!
    Cheers.
'Cause you don't give blood and take it back again.
  • I support this idea 100%. A fall Canadian tour would definitely be cool beans!

not impossible just unlikely, there could be a 20th anniversary tour in the works though if this is true , they could do something like a two week south american tour - break - two week american tour- break two week canadian tour - break two week euro tour break etc, that would be fun for all

I had read somewhere about a Montreal date in mid September. I'm not sure if it was posted here or on another board.

Someone recently posted on here that Ed is tying the knot this fall and that there would be no tour. They were supposed to play in South America but postponed it until next year because of this...not sure if this is even true.

I'm not picky... as long as Pearl Jam plays the same locations within Ontario that they did in '05, I'd be fine with that.

Wow... There have been dates in both Calgary and Vancouver, as well as Seattle in the last 2 years. I think you need to get a little more realistic.

In fact (not to burst anyone's bubble), you all need to be a little more realistic. You had a tour in 05, the southern US, a much much much bigger market (that doesn't require nearly as much travel between venues), hasn't had a tour since 03.

And let's be honest, I'm from St. John's, and that must have been one of the smallest venues they've ever played since becoming a stadium/festival head-lining band. When I was in Boston a month ago, I was visiting an in-law who was also at the St. John's shows... mid way through the set, he looked around the packed TD Garden, with 18,000 + people on their feet, and said "You know, when you think about it, it's a miracle that PJ played St. John's, or any of the small Canadian markets at all, considering how they fill this place."

I understand that you want them to do a Canadian tour, but I can't see it happening anytime soon, or ever again really. The only places they should be visiting are Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto (and maybe Deadmonton, but even that's borderline)... That being said, Montreal is long overdue, and if they decide to play there the fall, I will definitely be flying up for some Habs games, PJ, and a few Molson Export...

I mean best of luck to you in repeatedly bringing this up, but I think you're flogging a dead horse. That Canadian tour was definitely a once off thing. And if it ever happens again, it won't be in the forseeable future, especially not the way they are doing tour legs now...

So get off your asses and fly to Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver the next time they play! (cause let's be honest, Calgary just sucks  )

I think that idea of Pearl Jam doing another Canadian tour thing is just a promoters idea of creating buzz... everytime I'm in St. john's, Calgary, Toronto, or Montreal, I hear that rumour coming up again... and it's just people talking out of their a$$.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

You're right it's definitely wishful thinking on our parts. I also believe there is little or no chance of another full blown Canadian tour. There is really no need for the band to play these smaller markets and following the trends from 08,09,10 it looks like they will just keep recycling through most of the same cities (large markets) over and over. I would love to see another full blown tour (60 or 70 shows) but I just don't think the band ever want to tour like that again and I can't blame them. Who wouldn't want to work for 3 months a year, three weeks on three weeks off.

Anyways I'm lucky enough to live only an hour from both Vancouver and Seattle, so I can't complain too much and you're right Calgary does suck!

Ottawa would be awesome....but Montreal would rock to!!!
  • I have heard after Europe they are done for the year. Wedding nuptials and Soundgarden touring. I don't know to be a fact but would be awesome if they dusted off those dat masters of the remaining 2005 shows and have them mixed and released as Flac/CD. Would be a great hold over. A box set if you will. That would be a bad ass 20th anniversary present to us and the band. :D
  • check your facts....they sold 16000 tickets in Winnipeg in 30 min...thats a whole lot more then any city in the south...The south is a dead market for rock shows...Ive been to many down there...Winnipeg gets every major rock show plus some that alot of big southern cities dont get...Im sure 2 pearl jam shows here in 5 years is not a crazy idea...Tom Petty and the Eagles have been here twice in two years...
