morello isnt good enough on guitar to fill in for mccready. my guess would either be frusciante or someone no one's ever heard of from some indy band somewhere
  • yeah, Morello's style is WAY off the PJ sound, and wouldn't fit at all. Either Frusciante, or possibly Rich Robinson.

I think Morello is a good enough guitar player. It would be a nice change of pace from the Of the Earth type solos that go nowhere.

Fortunatley I think Mike would be the last person to leave. I don't know anything about his particualar situation but I could easily imagine Ed or Stone saying "enough! I want more time with the wife and kids."

Unfortunately (in my opinion)- no Mike= No Pearl Jam

Or better yet, just make the organs louder and have him bust out organ solos in lieu of Mike's Guitar, just like on Crazy Mary.

Then Pearl Jam would no longer be a band, they would all go off and do something different. Same goes for Ed, Jeff and Stoney.

    The answer is simple: ME
I am so familiar with the music of PJ that I could easily play all their songs, and since Mike has heavily influenced my guitar lead style, I think Stone and Eddie would not be disappointed
Obviously, Mike is my hero and without him all that remains of the band is the PEARL without the JAM, not so a good thing
As an hypothetical new lead guitarist of Pearl Jam, I would make the Army Reserve outro solo MUCH longer (let's say at least two-three minutes) and the same thing with Sleight of Hand.. I know you like it, isn't true?

Since this is totally hypothetical, I say we resurrect Hendrix!

Failing that Jerry Cantrell. Jack White would be interesting
Mike McCready makes the energizer bunny look tired.

Mike would be the LAST to leave the band. They practically have to drag him off the stage after every show as it is..

I could see rich filling in for him. Maybe Chris could make some guest appearances.

Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.
