Probably because I was there and in the second row but the Albany '06 show might have the best opener. Life Wasted reprise into Life Wasted was awesome.

Probably because it was my first (and only) show so far, I gotta say Unthought Known.
My favorite song on backspacer too! Was so amazing to see them open with it in buffalo.

I definitely enjoyed Hard to Imagine the most.

But I would kill to hear Wash or Breakerfall.

The first dedicated PJ show I saw was in Rochester in 1994...opened with Wash.

I've seen them play some great openers - my favorites are Hard to Imagine, Wash, Long Road... but I think Release is the best opener of them all.

It's gotta be Release. That song as an opener is perfect, the creshendo, the way eddie and the band get so into it by the end.... epic. Listen to the verison from MSG II 08.... it is amazing.

Honorable mention gets tossed the HDI and Of the Girl.

Personally I haven't got to see LBC open a show yet... or LBC at all really... Would like to hear it, but it seems to be out the rotation these days.... I've been chasing down Wash for a while now too...
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

I've heard both Long Road and Release open a show...I've got to say Long Road. They opened with it on night 1 of 2 in Seattle to wrap up the Binaural Tour in 2000. Given what the band had gone through up to that point on that tour, it was amazing.

Of the openers I've seen, I would rank them:

    1) Release
    2) Of The Girl
    3) Hard To Imagine
    4) Unthought Known

Still chasing Oceans and Long Road...

I really like the more traditional openers but I've been thinking lately how great Sleight of Hand would be as an opener.

a candidate for best opener would be all those yesterdays. but as far as i know, no evidence for that exists at this point in time.

present tense from borgatta in 05 also deserves a special mention.. "is everybody in?"
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

Agreed, Oceans is by far the best opener, followed by Release. I've seen them all, including even flow.
