Thats funny, cause last night I was watching a show called Dom Jolly's Happy Hour and Cast were played in the background at one point, and I thought to myself "What happened to them, they were pretty good..."

Most underrated band of all time!
I see they have been upgraded to 'The Cast' now - I'm fairly certain John Power would be fine with that. I'm sure somebody could ask him directly

Their great anthem "Walkaway" became one of despair when played out after England football team was defeated in Euro 96 - don't think anyone else could bear to listen to them after that - (only me & 'Comedy Dave' from BBC Radio1!)
That collection is superb tho
The first 3 albums are wicked - esp 1 & 3

Read last night that Cast are reforming and touring 2010 / 2011.
For those people who don't get on so well with John Power's voice, the guitar playing by Skin (of Robert Plant etc) is magnificent. Real electrifying. 'History' and 'Mankind' are great examples.
The major complaint against Cast is it is too 'trebly', tho this is a common complaint of albums produced by John Leckie - but if you look at his (Leckie's) full roster of albums you would gobsmacked. He's like the Britpop / Britrock Daniel Lanois for our generation.
just downloaded and listening to cast's last album beetroot, whilst out and about.
is generally seen as their worst and kinda rubbish. is sounding pretty damn good to me, again, ahead of its time
is like some kinda retro psychedelic liverpool funk from the 2000s, a psychotic magical time trip. just heard 'jetstream' for the first time and instantly thought 'this is a fucking brilliant song' amazing words to hear
