i mean feel free to walk but it's a long mile that's for sure.

connolly's is even cooler now for this parking offer! i agree with 2LY, walking in that area is NOT a good idea, but there was always tons of parking at the ampitheatre too.

going in won't be as bad, but if you decide to walk out of there in the dark, wear something light colored, slather yourself with OFF, and watch out for ditches and retention ponds with gators, ants and snakes!

I have an idea! How about you just don't get sloppy wasted if you're driving so there is no concern about getting to Cruzan from Connolly's.

I have no intention of getting wasted, (although never say never), but......

1) I hate driving to venues, parking, and then fighting traffic out, especially when I don't know where I am going (tourist). I had even considered taking a cab to Connolly's, then one to the venue, and then one back to the hotel. I was hopeful that a cab company would be willing to come out to Connolly's and then take me (and others) to the venue. Since it is such a short distance, it may not be worth it.

2) I don't like to drive even with a small amount of alcohol in my system. I am an attorney and I know the risk. Even though you may not be legally over the limit, if you are involved in an accident whether it be a fender bender or one with injuries it is going to be classified as "alcohol related" and you may be charged with all sorts of stuff, DUI included. There are other ways to get you with DUI even without blowing over the limit or blood testing over the limit.

It really sucks that there is no sidewalk or walking path. And even though I have never been to Connolly's or Cruzan I agree that it is probably not a good idea to walk on the road, especially after dark. I don't know how big the road rideaway is or if it is mowed. If there is a nice ride-away that has been mowed walking to the venue may be doable. However, after dark with the traffic and the gators I would say no (that being said I think traffic is more dangerous than the gators).

Also, I would be glad to pay my share of parking fee (if there is any) and gas if I ride with someone to Cruzan.

Sorry I really couldn't say for sure, haven't been in a taxi for 15 years or more. Probably in the $20-$30 range, just a guess though.

My wife and I arrive to the Ft. Lauderdale airport at 12:15 then to the rent a car and then drive to WPB. Probably we will be passing thru the venue to check out the 10c tix pick up window, then to the hotel. Not sure about the hour, 3:30 or 4:00 I guess...

So you have a rental car, I guess your looking to throw back a few at the show and not drive back to the hotel. No way I can fit two extra people in the mustang.:( Or I would offer you a ride to and from the show.
