Literally just bought tix for them in Brooklyn. I'm really digging both of their albums. Can anyone tell me about them live? I'm mostly seeing them for Jack...I know he's quite the performer live.

But how do they sound as a whole live?

Thanks!

Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.

I'll be seeing them for the first time in Detroit at the end of July.

Im a little late to this party, just bought their first one about 6 weeks ago. After one listen, i loved it and bought tickets to the show.

Then I got their new one, and I'll tell ya, Im disappointed with it. Im still excited to see them live but IMO, Sea of Cowards is completely underwhelming campared to Horehound.

Oh well, maybe seeing the songs live will change my opinion.

Oh, and yeah sorry, I didnt answer your question at all. Ive seen Jack a bunch with the White Stripes but not with Dead weather yet

Alisson Mosshart is the poster child for dirty drugged out rocker chic, and she is AWESOME! Jack plays drums in this band, he came out front a time or two for a guitar solo, but mainly its ms. Mossharts show....This was one of the best shows I've seen in a couple of years. Had lots of fun and they sounded great. Its definetly a rock and roll show. My ears were ringing all the next day!!!

Also, I have two tickets for the show in Milwaukee on the 29th of July. Face or best offer.

I saw them last year and thought the show was amazing. They seem to have a great time and the White-Mosshart chemistry is hot and insane. I was also very impressed by how versatile these guys are; none of them played a single instrument throughout the whole set!!

Sea of Cowards isn't as easy to get into as Horehound. It's still taking me some time to get into, but I love it. I always go back and forth between both albums because both sound so good. My favorites off of Sea of Cowards are No Horse and I'm Mad.

Yeah, I dont hate Sea of Cowards by any means. I just expected more after Horehound. It just sounds disjointed. Almost like the songs arent finished. I dont know.

I saw them live right before Pearl Jam at ACL festival. They were great. Very loud--of course we were one foot from the front rail--but if you are expecting all Jack all the time--it is not that. Mosshart is kinda a cliche--dark hair, dark clothes, smokes during the show, does some humping of things on stage. Kinda oozes sex. She kinda wins you over. She can sing too and as mentioned she has a very electric chemistry with Jack.

  • you're not late to the party! they've only been around about a year! the released two albums in one year! who does that anymore???

Saw them last year ... they are loud and dirty ... like that real loud muddy dirty sound ... great great live ... Jack stayed in the background ... which was nice to see Alison shines live ... definitely a recommend

seen Dead weather twice. ACL and at House of Blues in Houston.

They are alot better live I think. Really tight live show. I like Both albums (Like the sea of cowards album alot more).

Jack does come out and sing a few numbers so he doesn't just stay behind the drums.
Their collaboration of "will there be enough water" is jaw droppingly SICK. :D

I saw them in May so they were only playing like 2-3 sea of cowards songs at the time. The album came out 9 days later.

The THEM cover (van morrison) cover they have been doing is bad ass. I can't seem to track down the original.

But DW is awesome live and well worth it. Have fun.

Well if Jack White ever decides to come to philly I can give you an answer. From what I've seen and heard they are good live (I've seen White Stripes and Raconteurs in concert).
